What engine was dropped into this MGB?

I received an interesting email from Gerard B. who wonders who might be able to identify what engine he has in his B.

    As there is no bulge in the bonnet and the suspension appears to be at the standard height , I suspect that it is not a US V8 but no more than a Rover Buick V8 with big exhausts and perhaps cherrybombs.Nice sound though.

    I have watched quit carefully and did not see any body movement. Does anyone else but me think that the sound track might be from another car ? ? ?
