Canada Day Run BREAKING NEWS! It's on and it's gonna be a good'un!

Wenda and Don Koehler have offered us 'someone's' backyard, house, and (most importantly) bathroom for the afternoon.  It's located a block from the downtown.
Because the downtown will be a zoo, it's suggested that we park along Parr St. and walk the two (small) blocks to her cousin's place.
Food...Don suggests that we stop at the ClamDigger on the way in for take out.  It's highly recommended and fast.  Other options are to bring your own or continue downtown for takeout.  All restaurants will be offering takeout tomorrow.
After lunch, we can wander around the downtown.  I suggest we plan on hitting the wharf  for a group shot.
Bring - your own camp chairs.
-a map (or checkout Google Earth to orient yourself)

  Addresses:
  • The ClamDigger, 4468 Route 127.
  • The meeting house, 62 Princess Royal (corner of Queen and Princess Royal, across from the Legion)  It's bright yellow too.

(Meet at the Exhibition Grounds in F’ton near the Tim Hortons for a 12:00 departure.)

Canada Day Run details

July one'snt(the first).  Canada Day.
A run to St Andrews is proposed.
Meet at the exhibition grounds near the Timmies for a 12:00 departure.
We'll arrive in St Andrews around 1:30 to hunt for place(s) to eat.  Due to Canada Day, no one is taking reservations.  I propose we get take out pizza and eat on the wharf.  Or we could bring lunches and eat on the wharf.

A visit with Alex

Three of us visited Alex today(Friday).  He regaled us with stories of his move to Canada, and told us he had recently celebrated his 91st birthday and his 60th wedding anniversary. (I may have the latter wrong, and his anniversary may be coming up.)

Report on June Meeting

Can you believe that summer is here?....finally!  Various LBCs graced the parking lot tonight under balmy skies.
Gary opened by introducing two new members, John Combaluzier and Carol Dixon. They're rounding out the club's 'Axis' contingent with a Porsche Boxster S in German racing silver.  We hope you'll become regulars.
  •  Terry pond passed away early in the week and information on his funeral is on the site.
  •  Many folks have been visiting Alex in Hospice and report that he is cheerful and comfortable.
  •  A short survey on the upcoming Windsor meet was given.
  •  John gave an update on the Gaspe tour scheduled for August.  Those participating should call him at 292-4855
  •  Sandy and Larry mentioned the Stanley Fair on the 17th of August (18th rain date).  This is always a fun event and well attended by the club.
  •  Phil talked about a possible fund raiser for the club.
  •  Terry and Rick proposed another pot luck 7 burger bash at their place.
  •  a run to St Andrews on the upcoming long weekend was proposed.  I'll make arrangements.
  •  The next meeting will (hopefully) be at the Reversing Falls restaurant on the 17th of July.

Terry Pond’s funeral Friday

Terry passed away at Hospice House on Tuesday morning. Many members of FABAC will want to know that the funeral service for Terry is scheduled for Friday at 11:00am at St. Paul’s United Church on the corner of George and York.

His obituary can be found here.

A visit to Alex H. and Terry P.

I went into Hospice Center on Monday AM to visit both Alex and Terry. Alex was very lucid and able to reminisce FABAC times. His medication is keeping him at ease as he journeys on.
Terry was in a deep sleep so didn't wake him. The nurse said he had a difficult night.
I spoke with his brother Bruce.

British Motoring festival in Windsor

Hi fellows,

Any interest in this show next month?   July 12 to 14th weekend.  I might like to go and show off my new toy and plan on taking a load of LBC stuff to unload.  I would rather drive around than the ferry.  Could meet up in Salisbury area on Friday morning.  Come on folks, who is in?
