Tuesday Breakfast at Picaroons Brewing Company

We’re planning a repeat for next Tuesday and the chef at The Roundhouse promised to have coffee and muffins available for us.  Bob and Ian biked in from Burton and Oromocto respectively and commented on the impressive fall colours on the trail.  I wonder if they’ll be impressed with the same bike ride in December?

Today's chuckle

One day in the jungle a chimpanzee invented some tools to eat his dinner. One tool was a flat stick sharpened along one edge, this he used to cut his food.

The other was a stick with four smaller sticks attached to the end each sharpened to a point. He used to spear his food and place it in his mouth.
The chimp was very proud of his inventions which he called his one point tool and his four point tool. One day he awoke to find that the four point tool was missing. The chimp was distraught. He ran around the jungle trying to find his precious tool.
First he came upon the lion. "Lion, Lion!" he cried, "Have you seen my four point tool?"
"No." Replied the lion, "I have not seen your four point tool."
Then the chimp came upon the gorilla. "Gorilla, Gorilla!" he cried, "Have you seen my four point tool?"
"No." Replied the gorilla, "I have not seen your four point tool."
Then the chimp came upon the jaguar. "Jaguar, Jaguar!" he cried, "Have you seen my four point tool?"
"Yup!" replied the jaguar, "I've seen your four point tool."
"Well where is it?" inquired the chimp.
"I ate it." Said the jaguar, smugly.
"Why would you do that?" Cried the chimp.
"Because,"replied the big cat........”I'm a four point tool eater jaguar!"

Wednesday evening's meeting/picnic report

It was a bit blustery and cool but a bunch of us made it to Carleton Park (again) for the September meeting.

Gary gave a quick recap of the past month's (or two) events:
  • Rita-n-Rob's cottage visit was the usual bag of fun and games. We thanked them for their hospitality.
  • John's recent Fundy Trail outing was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed.
  • Gary then told a bunch of war stories from the early days of FABAC.
  • Phil's breakfasts have grown to become the best attended events we've ever had. They consistently attract over a dozen folks and once hit 25.  Being held weekly may have something to do with it.  We expect to move to the Coffee Mill soon as the weather cools.
  • Ernst suggested that the Oaklawn Farm inn be contacted about providing a place for our next meeting and dinner.  Ernst will contact them.
  • Ernst also volunteered to lead another run to the Fundy Trail Drive with a stop at Adair's Wilderness Lodge for eats.
  • Lastly, David N. provided considerable details regarding Hagerty's specialty car insurance.

...and we didn't go for ice cream again.

Motor Racing

For those that are keen motoring racing fans, this weekend is the Le Mans 24 hrs that should have taken place in June.  The whole 24 hours is on discovery velocity channel no 827 starting at 9am Saturday until 10am Sunday. I usually stay up for all 24 hours.

Kelvin.

No Wimps at this breakfast!

Thanks to Dave S. for the photos. (Yes, no wimps on Zoom either.)

 Cruisin’ on home!

Breakfast for wimps.

Considering the possible single digit temperature forecast for Tuesday morning, the Morgan and I are staying home. I have thoroughly enjoyed Phil's Odell Park breakfasts. I'll host a Zoom for Wimps tomorrow at 9:30 am. Dig out one of Phil's old emails for sign-on information, or email me for the link.
