John confirms this trip is on—Beautiful weather forecast

Once again John D has come through for us in the way of yet another day tour. This one encompasses ALL the elements of a great day trip including great scenic roads, ferry crossings, a great spot for lunch and the opportunity to meet up with great friends. What better way to spend Canada Day celebrating our absolutely wonderful country and our wonderful freedoms.

Here's John's itinerary for the trip:

Canadian GP Sunday June 19th

For everyone coming, it is Three O'Clock start, but I'll be here all day except a quick run out at about 230 to get coffee...

I’ve decided to host a Canadian GP watching get together in my garage on Sunday. Rain or shine. I’ll provide coffee, tea and beer. Race starts at 2:00 I think, so anytime after noon is great.

Thanks
Joe

Notes from June 15th Meeting

The evening was mosquito free thanks to a warm breeze blowing off the river.  Everyone's L(B or G or I or J*)Cs was top down, making for a nice scene.

Gary started off with a quick round up of the past months outings:
-a trip to St George for lunch,
-a trip to the Woodstock car show,
-a very successful day at the Sussex car parts swap meet.

Various trips were then offered for the next month or two:
-1 July, run to Saint John.
-9th July, Gagetown Fair,
-16 July, Windsor British Car Festival.
-22 July in McAdam.  A meet up with the Canadian Coasters (additional info on the page),
-9 to 11th Sept, Sussex balloon Fest and car show.

A reminder that the Tuesday morning breakfasts continue to be a hit rain or shine. In the rare event of rain, head up the right side of the maintenance building (left side of parking lot) where there's a lesser known gazebo just in behind and to the right side.

FABAC June Meeting UPDATE - Carleton Park - June 15th

The weather forecast for Wednesday is looking very nice for an outside meeting. So let's meet at Carleton Park for 5:30. For those arriving first please see if you can find a picnic table to assist those who may not have foldable chairs. Also please bring some ideas for a daily tour as we currently have NO tours scheduled until July 9th.

Oh yes, bring your picnic supper as well.

Hope to see you there.

An update on Woodstock Car Show

The weather forecast for this event is calling for a medium likelihood of rain/thundershowers in the afternoon. So, for those still willing to risk the weather I still intend to go and will be leaving Riverside Resort at 9am. For those going you may wish to bring foldable chair(s) and perhaps an umbrella in case of rain.

Thanks
 Gary

FABAC June Meeting - Wed June 15 - Carleton Park

At our last meeting it was decided to hold the June meeting at Wilmot Park for a change of venue. However I see there is a lot of construction on some of it's bordering streets so parking there is not great.

So let's head back to Carleton Park for an outside meeting at 5:30. Bring a chair and your supper as we've done in the past. If the weather does not support an outside meeting we'll organize an alternative.

  Thanks

Woodstock Classic Car Show - Sunday June 12th

I just came across an ad for a Classic Car Show in Woodstock this Sunday June 12th. It looks like it could be a fun day with classic cars, imports, antique tractors, BBQ, entertainment, free admission etc. I'm planning to attend pending weather. Here is the link to the site with all the show details:

I'll be leaving the Riverside Resort at Mactaquac promptly at 9am in order to make the registration window. Again, this tour is weather pending as there is currently a small chance of showers on Sunday. I'll confirm Saturday.

  Hope to see you there.

2.3 EcoBoost in 70 Cortina GT First time starting

Gerald Elliott sent this video of the first start up of their Cortina/Ecoboost conversion. The start up action begins at about the nine minute mark. Some very professional looking work was put into this car. It is going to be a rocket!

BMF is approching

As stated, the BMF is approaching.  Karen and I have registered, as have the Daigles,  and we plan to do a leisurely back road run down together on Friday the 15th.   As rooms are tight (impossible to find) due to the CFL game in Wolfville, the dorm rooms at Kings Edgehill have been opened for a very reasonable rate ($45/night I think) and meals will be available.   Karen and I will be stopping off in Digby/Annapolis Royal area for a couple days on the way back and plan a back run to there on Sunday the 17th and then on to the Ferry on the 19th.

Anybody interested in joining our little convoy please let me know by email or text or old fashioned phone call.
