Pond's Resort run

Driving whatever they wanted, or hand on hand (or was the easiest to get to in the respective garage), a bunch of us put-putted, roared, zoomed, or hummmmmed along heading towards Boisetown. The one lone British car was given the place of honour in the pack and was escorted by the others.

After meeting up with Sandra and the husband—formerly known as Larry (more on this later)—in Taymouth, Pat & David found their Bimmer unresponsive. The gentlemen took this as an opportunity to show off as we performed the ancient ritual of the push-start.

On our way again, we continued to Boiestown and the Pond's restaurant on the Miramichi river. David  took sympathy on us by parking on the upslope of the driveway. As it happened, his starter would reboot (?) itself during dinner and resume normal function when we left a few hours later.

The dining room had been cleverly hidden on the opposite side of the building and it took a few moments to find our way in. Dinner was excellent with good food and good conversation. Sandra and 'Spike'(!?) again led the pack, this time to the Priceville footbridge where we got to test our balance on the narrow, wooden, and not very stable bridge. No one lost their lunch although we found that we'd parked on the wrong side of the bridge. Next time we'll go to the south side.

Thanks to Sandra and Spike (boy am I gonna have fun with that!) for organizing a fun outing and arranging for a day without rain.

Report from Windsor trip

Here are just a few photos of our trip to Windsor. There were 120 cars registered for the show. Ernst and I had a great time driving around New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Also had some really good meals at these two different restaurants one in Cape Bald New Brunswick, and the other in Lunenburg Nova Scotia. We drove 1000 miles. Leaving my house at around 10 AM. We drove to Shediac then onto the Nova Scotia border. Starting in Amherst heading  heading to Pictou Landing. Then onto Sheet Harbour the next day we left for Bridgewater. The weather was great. We also enjoying some of the greatest roads I’ve been on in a long time. An then we drove on the Windsor to register for the show. We met up with Robert Earl. We had three FABAC members on site. How do you remember which way to turn a screw?

And another:
Going through some old ads in another Tumblr blog I saw an Austin Allegro being promoted as a wedding car.
Would anyone want to start their marriage in a cheap car?
