Who is that masked man?

I think we all know who he is, but I think he has the right outfit for the new Morgan 3-Wheeler! Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gjn-53H0WfQ
Thanks to Jim W. for the photo.

St. George's Day now Officially marked by FABAC

Although a more formal report may be in the works, may I just say that Kelvin's hospitality gets a high Nielsen Rating as a goodly number of FABACians (only one British car in the driveway!) enjoyed good food, great company and challenging quizzes with wonderful prizes. No one went home empty-bellied or empty-handed!
I am not sure what has captured the interest of Kelvin and Charlie (Kelvin is the one on the right—I think!) in this photo submitted by Jim Woodford, but it appears to be food related:
This photo, also from Jim, I think deserves to have a caption contest. Who are the people in the photo and what are they doing or thinking? Come up with a good caption and put it in a comment.

Now, quite unofficially, but most sincerely, may I just extend a HUGE thank you to Kelvin for once again opening his home to our Club, providing such hospitality and food, not to mention the generous array of prizes! Two thumbs up from me.

FABAC Celebration of St. Georges Day: April 28th

Everyone is invited to my St. Georges Day party on Saturday, April 28th.
It is the same format as usual—pot luck supper, BYOB. There will be the usual quiz come trivia but this time will be a little less car orientated, and there with be some great prizes ( a 2 ton trolley jack, screwdriver sets, spanners, as well as some prizes catering more for the ladies).
So there will be something for everyone.
Look forward to seeing you all on the 28th!
The action starts at 5:30 or so.

FATCAPK (FABAC Traveling Circus & Pit Crew) Strikes Again!

The second outing of FATCAPK was a more than rousing success on Saturday as a large group descended on Joe Hine's garage, drank all his tea, scattered his tools all over the place and lost his nuts. Not only did we install the engine, we hooked up the drive shaft, connected the clutch slave cylinder and staged a furious battle with his adjustable reaction tie plate.  In the end we caused much less damage than he'd been prepared for and the fire extinguishers and first aid kits were put away.  A video of the day can be found here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKczOtzLYFs

Bob E's FABAC Meeting report April 18/2012

A whole bunch of FABACians milled around in the parking lot outside Montana's restaurant in Knowledge Park Wednesday evening under not too cool skies and greeted the LBCs as they arrived.  There were a few out, some with tops down, but the star of the show had to be Bob and Rita's (mostly Rita's I'm told) spanking new Fiat 500.  Fiat has returned to these shores after almost thirty years and graced us with an updated version of a European classic.  There was much finger poking, test sitting, and opening of orifices (the car's).
  • Before dinner could be served, Jim grabbed the floor and quickly dispensed a bit of news and upcoming runs.
  • Joe Hine has asked for the services of FABACTRSAC (or whatever it's called) on Saturday (the 21st) to help him install the engine in his Jag.  Fun starts at ten (in the morning) and onlookers are welcome.
  • The lobster supper in Dumfries is on the 19th of May. -Don't forget the St Georges Day blast at Kelvin's place the end of the month.  This will be the last party at this location as he's moving to a new home soon.
  • The May meeting will be a Sam Sneads in Kingswood on the 16th of May.
  • A bit of Show & Tell ensued With Johanna presenting the group with small kilt made from the Canadian tartan and sporting a Canadian flag. It was a promotional item from Óffkilter' Bike tours.

Hmmmm! Remind me not to complain about the top of Regent Street!

Despite the potholes...

a few of our FABAC LBCs have been spotted out and about:
  • Carolyn in her Tr6
  • Ellie and Jim in their MGB
  • Sherry and Curry in their XKE
Vic mentioned that he was about to launch his LJC.
Dennis's BAIC met with an unfortunate storage accident so won't be out for a while.
If your LBC or LJC or LGC or other is now on the road, add a comment.
See you on Wednesday! Weather still looks good for the next few days.

April FABAC Meeting

Wednesday, April 18th, 5:45 pm: Montana’s Restaurant (off Knowledge Park Drive)
See you there—maybe with a LBC.  :-)
Remember to keep April 28th open for St. Georges Day Celebration at Kelvins!

Now if you have a bit of spare time...

...this might be something you could work on:

Good Morning Everyone

I hope this email finds you all well and rested! I’m sure you’re all looking forward to a warm spring and I’ll bet many of you have already taken your cars out for a spin.

If you guys make your way over to the Bonar Law Common website, you’ll find the 2012 Registration Form for our 5th Annual British Car Days of New Brunswick. You’ll notice that we’ve added the opportunity to enjoy a nice “stroll” on the Richibucto River on a pontoon, we hope you’ll enjoy this new addition. We will send you a more detailed Schedule of Events as details are being finalized. In the meantime, don’t forget to register early. We will be having another draw for an Early Bird Prize among those who do, and you can’t afford to miss it!

Here’s the link to the Registration Form  www.bonarlawcommon.com/registrationForm2012v.pdf To simplify things, we’ve added the possibility of sending the form via email if you choose or a Print feature to submit via regular mail.

British Motoring Festival Information (July 20-22)

A note from the organizers:

I would like the membership to know that the British Motoring Festival website is now ‘fully operational’ and has all the details relating to this year’s event- our third year- which once again will be held at Kings-Edgehill school in Windsor.
It will take place on the weekend of July 20th, 21st and 22nd, come rain or shine! (Please not rain again...been there, done that, and sold the wet t-shirts!).
The Registration page is up and has two versions- one that can be printed and mailed in or one that can be done entirely on line.
There are two complimentary events –the Friday night reception and then a luncheon at Laurie Bell’s home after the car tour on Sunday.
We are also trying out a different venue this year for our British Breakfast on the Sunday morning. It will be held at the Spitfire pub in Windsor.
Please go and visit our website! www.britishmotoringfestival.com
