If you haven't seen this yet, you MUST!

This is the most powerful "Don't drink and drive" ad that I have ever seen. View it and tell others about it. Find it here.

From Never-Slows-Down Phil O. in Northern BC

I just replied to your post about the Christmas in the Village Tour.  I made the point that I was working very hard a long way from home and couldn't participate.  Just to let you know that although I haven't seen any LBCs (this must be the pick-up truck capitol of the world), I have gotten to play with our three grandchildren.  My son's neighbour took me for a very nice long aerial tour of the Dawson Creek area yesterday.  The wind farm in the photos on Bear Mountain has 32 turbines—very impressive any time but more so when you're doing a slalom around them!

Back in time for the Christmas Party.

Christmas in the Village Tour

The cream of FABAC members had a wonderful tour of "Christmas in The Village" in the village of Gagetown dressed in all its seasonal gay apparel. Bruce Pendrel reserved a lovely table at the Creek View Restaurant where we ate and made merry. We also mused about what the weaker members were missing.
Thanks Gary and Barb for organizing this first outing of the Christmas season.
Here are a few pictures for the shut ins to enjoy. (Thanks to Ellie for the photos.)

Last peek before hibernating. :-)

A Beautiful Day for the Christmas in the Village Tour Today (Sunday)

It's a beautiful day for our tour to Gagetown.
For those attending, we will meet you at the Ramada Inn for a noon departure.
  Thanks,
  Gary A and Jim B

Some of us remember these:

Submitted by Ralph who goes on to say that there "was recently one in the junk yard in St. Stephen that could be had for around $3000 in a total trashed state."

Christmas In The Village Tour Details

Weather permitting we will meet at the Ramada Inn on Sunday Nov 28 for a 12 noon departure to Gagetown.

We will take route 105 to Burton and cross the Burton bridge to route 102 to Gagetown. We'll stop at the Burton Court House for only a  few minutes to see if there are any folks joining us from the area or from Saint John.

We should arrive in Gagetown at around 1245. I suggest we go for lunch at that time leaving the rest of the afternoon to tour the  town.

Here are a few restaurant ideas:
  - The Creek View Restaurant
  - The Old Boot Pub
  - Anglican Parish Hall (Beans and Brown Bread)

Please post your preference if you have one. Otherwise I'll try to make reservations for the Creek View restaurant for 1pm for 20 folks.

Here's a link that Jim found with the details of the annual "Christmas In The Village" event.

On the topic of FABAC 10th Anniversary in 2011

2011 is FABAC's 10th Anniversary. Celebration suggestions
run from 12 different activities each month to a single major event
such as a visit to England or the States.

Report on FABAC November Meeting

We had yet another great turn out at our monthly meeting which was held at Montana's Restaurant. I believe at last count we had 23 attending.  Of course one could say we have never had a bad turn out at our monthly meetings. I wonder if it has anything to do with the meals rather then the content of our always scintillating discussions? If that indeed is the case last nights meals were in all accounts wonderful. All comments I heard were all positive so no doubt we will be back to Montana's soon. Too bad we were missing Bob E, poor lad is on assignment in the southern states, he would have missed the ribs and to top it off it was rib night where you can eat all the ribs you want or rather can handle and we all know from previous visits there how much he likes his ribs.

Jim B led the agenda and as always kept us on track with our upcoming and future agenda items. Here they are:

 - Christmas Party. As previously mentioned, Anne and John Crumley have volunteered to host this years event. It will be held on Sunday Dec 12, at 6pm at their place. This will be a pot luck event so please post your proposed dish on the FABAC comments section or call Anne. We will do the traditional Yankee Swap for those that want to participate. The gift cost limit is $10.00. BYOB.

 - Gagetown Christmas in the Village Nov 28. Please stand by for details. Jim B and Gary A to lead. This will be a weather permitting event.

 - FABAC's 10 year anniversary. It's hard to believe that our club will be that old come Feb 22/2011. In the last meeting David N asked people to think about a special event/occasion to celebrate this. A few suggestions have already been discussed. These include visiting the United Kingdom for the Goodwood racing revival in Sept, a truly magnificent event, and one that would certainly be memorable. The other suggestion and one many of our club members have already experienced is attending the Stowe British car show in Stowe Vermont held each year in Sept. Luckily for us John B. has experienced both these events and has agreed to look into the details including the approximate cost to attend both events so we can better make an informed decision. We are still looking for other ideas so please give this some thought, it does not have to be a single event but a continuous year of special events celebrating our success as a long standing club.

 - Dec Meeting. Our Christmas party (Dec 12) will replace our regular meeting.

 Thanks

Name that car!

Well, it didn't take Terry J. long to identify that car. It is indeed a Maybach. If you are interested in a few other of the world's most expensive cars, check out: http://www.picturebulk.com/?p=578

Monthly FABAC Meeting

Just a reminder that our regular third Wednesday of the month meeting will be held at Montana's at 5:30 pm, November 17th. See you then!
