FABAC September 20/2023 Meeting Notes

The lovely and talented Johanna Bertin led is all to the new(~ish) West Hills golf course somewhere past all the cities road construction.  It was noisy and we were seated in steerage with the gofers...er golfers (free beer if you know the reference to that one) so it was difficult to hear Gary for the meeting part.   As best as I can recall hearing....

  • A big thanks to the folks who organized the runs this past month.  There was the annual Stanley Fair   appearance which luckily happened in between rain storms.
  • Bruce (of Johanna & Bruce) briefly mentioned the solar tour.  It's apparently still on.  Hopefully we won't have to clear snow off the panels to appreciate their luster.
  • John Dewitt is planning (isn't he always?) a fall tour.  Stay tuned.
  • There won't be a fall Carter House lunch as they're not doing them anymore. *sniff, sniff*
  • There WILL be an Octoberfest run together with anybody from Moncton.  Ovide is still around and in contact with a few folks.
  • Dianne E (the tree lady) will be planning the Holiday party.  It'll be at the Fredericton Inn.
  • The next meeting (October) will be at Gahans on Queen St. on the 18th.  Everybody (Yes...EVERYBODY!) is to call, write, email, or throw a brick through their window with a note attached to Johanna to remind her to remind Bruce to call and make reservations...or was it the other way around.

FABAC September 20 Meeting Info

I have booked the St. James Gate Dining Room at West Hills Golf Club for our gathering on Wednesday September 20, at 5:30 pm., 200 Summerhill Row, Fredericton Northside, off Brookside Drive.

Initially, I booked a private room, but the first had a booking fee of $500 😵‍💫, so I declined the offer. The second room was not suitable, so we are in the dining room with lovely views of the greens.
Bruce and I had eaten there recently, and enjoyed their offerings, so I hope you will too. Plenty of available parking.

Sussex Balloon Fest Car Show

We had a great time at the Sussex Balloon Fest Car Show. Lots of cars, lots of interest in our cars and just a fun day all around. It was also a great day to be out driving a sports car. Phil lead us through some great roads and some that were actually very well paved! We saw some pretty fine scenery as well. We do live in a beautiful province.

Thanks, Phil, for making our day.

Calais Run report from Gary

Another great run by John D. We had great sports car roads, wonderful weather, million dollar views, delicious and abundant meals and a great time with good friends. Overall a great FABAC day.

Thanks, John, for making that happen.

This photo was taken by a very friendly fellow NB’er at a lookout on US 1 near Danforth, ME looking over East Grand Lake.  It was a wonderful day for the drive, excellent roads and perfect weather.
