FABAC Fall

Well FABACians, fall is moving on and we are putting our cars away for winter, but November 2023 was great for LBC travel.

Tim's car!

Ernst and I stopped by to see Tim’s car.  It is beautiful. He’s done a great job.

Cheers,
John

FABAC Holiday Party - Wednesday Dec 13 - Fredericton Inn

Diane E, has reserved our Holiday Party at the Fredericton Inn for Wednesday Dec 13 at 5:30. She needs to know numbers now. We need 20 for a discounted rate. Please respond to Bob E's last monthly report if you plan to attend.

Hope to see you there,

         Gary

It's ALIVE... The Beast Runs.

I beat Bob E and Kelvin to get my 72B Running.  I ran it yesterday for over 20 minutes to bed the cam. No leaks. Started up fast without hesitation—about 1/2 a turn.  Hard to believe it has been 21 years.  It takes a lot of time to do a nut and bolt restoration.  Still interior and front grill and other issues before road worthy.

Best regards and cheers,
Tim Ross

Wednesday's meeting report

Shockingly, Gary wasn't present at the meeting.  We can only assume that he was tied and gagged in a corner of the house so that Barb could take charge and run things properly.

And run things she did, inter-spacing running gags with a rehash of the month's happenings.
  • Pam-n-Phil were thanked for arranging tonight's dinner venue.
  • The Tuesday breakfasts continue to be wildly popular and well attended.
  • The annual Octoberfest run was the same great hit it always is and a good chance to re-connect with friends from Moncton.
  • John Dee's two runs (Calais and Jemseg area) were a couple of excellent opportunities to drip oil around the province.
  • Our Holiday party!  Let Dianne E. know NOW! if you're attending. She needs numbers yesterday to confirm our reservation at the Freddy Inn.  Leave a note here, call her at Scott's, email her or throw a brick through our window with a note attached. (I gotta stop saying that, someone may do it one of these days).
  •  Gagetown's Christmas in the Village will be happening this coming weekend.  We've gone in the past but never in any organized manner.  It's a chance for a short but fun drive down the 102 to see what's happening.

I guess STOP signs are just suggestions.

Carolyn and I experienced this on our way home from a concert Wednesday evening.
How does a driver not see bright lights closing in on him—until he looks to his left?!!!
Thank goodness to brand new tires and decent reflexes. Tesla camera recorded the event.

FABAC MEETING WEDNESDAY!

 Hi Folks,

Our monthly scheduled FABAC dinner meeting will be held at its regular time of 5:30 at the Northside Pizza Delight.

Once again, I seem to have double booked myself for the same time so my lovely wife Barb volunteered to fill in for me.

Also, Diane E, has graciously agreed to organize this years Holiday Party. She needs to know the attending numbers to confirm our booking scheduled for Wed Dec 13th. We need 20 to get the discount. Please let her know as soon as possible.

Have a good meeting and I hope to see you at the Holiday Party.

Best,
Gary

What is this?!

...and why do I wish I had one 56 years ago?

Weeks later, and an email arrives with the correct answer:

I believe the item is a grease gun coupler that locks onto a zerk (grease fitting) and provides a tight, and usually, leak -proof connection.

You would have needed one if you had a recessed grease fitting or one that was just awkward to access.

Chris

Looking for a drive!

This was in my yard this morning as I was getting ready for a drive in the Triumph.

Cheers,
