Woodstock/Hartland Tour - Sunday Oct 2/22

John D. has planned another tour for us scheduled for this Sunday Oct 2. Here are the details;

Meeting at Riverside Inn near Mactaquac at 10:30. Leaving at around 10:45 . Drive on Rte 102 to Nackawic. Then Highway 2 to route 165 to Woodstock. Having lunch at Walters Table Restaurant. After lunch, take Route 103 to Hartland. Crossing the covered bridge to Route 105 and on the way back to Fredericton.

John has reserved 20 seats for us with lunch at noon so it would be nice to get that number on the tour. John needs to confirm numbers attending so please post on our site.

    Thanks

September Dinner Meeting Report

A massive crowd of FABACians (all 10 of us) descended on the Carnation restaurant at the Days Inn in Oromocto for our September dinner and meeting. With the more sensible members of the group not in attendance, mayhem ensued. Gary brought us to order after we'd all ordered, and the following points where made:

  • The show at the Stanley Fair was well attended and enjoyed by all. Thanks to Larry and Sandy for organizing the affair.
  • Debbie's birthday bash was also well attended. Does this mean that we've all got to throw birthday parties with cake from now on?
  • John DeWitt's tour to St. George was a BIG hit with those who attended.
  • **NOTE** The Tuesday morning breakfasts will now be held at the Sunshine Diner just off of Woodstock Rd across from the Delta. 9:00 AM, dress is casual.
  • Outside monthly meetings will now be held inside so that we don't freeze our delicate little fingers. October's will be at the Pizza Delight on the North side. (corner of Maple and St Mary's St.)
  • It was stressed that ladies are always welcome and indeed, encouraged to attend the Tuesday morning breakfasts. The gentlemen promise to behave themselves.
  • Not one to sit still for long, John D. is planning another run on Oct 2nd to Woodstock with lunch at Walter's Place restaurant, then on to Hartland.
  • He's also planning a fall leaf peeping run sometime before all the leaves have fallen.
  • We hope to have the Octoberfest dinner in Knightville the end of October with the gang from Moncton.
  • Phil is planning on attending the endurance race at AMP on the 2nd of Oct. Contact him if interested in joining him. There will also be a garage tour.

FABAC meeting Wednesday September 21

Tomorrow's weather is not looking great for an outside meeting in Oromocto. So I have made reservations at the Carnation Chinese Restaurant in Oromocto for 5:30.  I will need at least 20 members to get a private room. So need to know numbers.

Thanks,
Gary

St. George trip Saturday.

On  Saturday the 17th. I am planning a trip to St. George.  I’ve contacted the restaurant and have booked for 20 people.

Meeting in Harvey at the Irving Station around 10:15; leaving around 10:40 driving to St. George.

I have booked the outside deck for the group. If it’s warm enough. I told the restaurant we will be arriving between 12:00 and 12:30 on Saturday. I have to call the restaurant on Saturday to let them know how many people will be attending and our setting arrangements so they can be ready for us.

Cheers
JOHN

Debi's 70th Birthday Update -Sunday Sept 11/22 - Morning Gate Church

Due to my error in recommending Sunday Sept 11 for the St George run, I completely missed that we had previously scheduled Debi's 70th birthday get together that day. Debi and Tim had invited us all to this birthday at our last meeting where there was overwhelming support to attend. This is a very special birthday for Debi so please try to make it. Here are the details:

Meet at the Morning Gate Church (off Prospect St) on Sunday Sept 11 between 1 and 3 in the afternoon. Birthday cake will be served. No gifts by request, just your presence would be appreciated. Hope you can make it.

Oh yes, we'll reschedule the St George run for a later date.

   Hope to see you there.

Sussex Balloon Fiesta

Pam and I took an early morning run (5:15AM!) run to Sussex this morning to catch the balloon launch.  After a run for a while in fog, it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Here’s a few photos of the day.
