Report on June Meeting

Can you believe that summer is here?....finally!  Various LBCs graced the parking lot tonight under balmy skies.
Gary opened by introducing two new members, John Combaluzier and Carol Dixon. They're rounding out the club's 'Axis' contingent with a Porsche Boxster S in German racing silver.  We hope you'll become regulars.
  •  Terry pond passed away early in the week and information on his funeral is on the site.
  •  Many folks have been visiting Alex in Hospice and report that he is cheerful and comfortable.
  •  A short survey on the upcoming Windsor meet was given.
  •  John gave an update on the Gaspe tour scheduled for August.  Those participating should call him at 292-4855
  •  Sandy and Larry mentioned the Stanley Fair on the 17th of August (18th rain date).  This is always a fun event and well attended by the club.
  •  Phil talked about a possible fund raiser for the club.
  •  Terry and Rick proposed another pot luck 7 burger bash at their place.
  •  a run to St Andrews on the upcoming long weekend was proposed.  I'll make arrangements.
  •  The next meeting will (hopefully) be at the Reversing Falls restaurant on the 17th of July.

Hi folks
Further to meeting notes Karen and I (group of 6 people) had lunch at the Reversing falls a couple days ago. In a word it was terrible. Service was deathly slow considering there were only 10 people in the place, Food orders were mixed up, took half an hour to get two drinks delivered to the table and when the food finally arrived after 50 minutes it was lackluster at best and my $26 lobster roll was pitiful.

Shame since the new owner spent a fortune to renovate the place and then hired inept staff to work there.

Just saying there is so much better out there.

Thanks Ralph. Maybe we could go to that Tai restaurant just down the road? I don't know if they could handle a crowd our size.

You're the food guru in SJ Ralph, perhaps you've got some suggestions up your sleeve.

Ralph, I hope you give your feedback to the owner. Anne and I ate there last year and it was good, not great, but good. Would hate to see it go under.

re restaurant options

14 1/2 is the name of the smaller place next to the falls restaurant and is now a casual self serve cafe style with good menu and the views are great cheap and cheery website menu is here http://www.1412.ca/cafe-menu-saint-john-nb.html. Good lunch spot

Lily's cafe at Lily lake in rockwood park good spot but a bit smaller for a large group and is busy on weekends also good for lunch their website http://www.lilylake.ca/lilys.html

Britts pub at Rockwood Park golf course nice patio and will be a bit warmer as it is away from the bay. No water views for our landlocked Freddy friends but has patio with golf course, parking lot and road views good food most $$ option

Larry and Sandi vote for 141/2, great view of the falls and a fairly wide ranging menu. It's not fancy, but pleasant. Other thoughts?

We'll check into 14 1/2 to see if they can accommodate us.
