Windsor Trip

Just a heads up. Anyone wishing to travel with Ernst and me this summer to Windsor may want to book their hotel room early in Sheet Harbour. The owner of the Fairwinds Motel and Restaurant informed me that July is a very busy month for them. She said at the time they had 10 double rooms left.

Report on February Dinner/meeting

Gahans was empty except for us. We kinda expected that as it was the day after Valentine's Day and most folks would have been dined out.

  • Gary mentioned that he and Barb would be in Florida for the next two meetings so that Barb could attend several RC fly-ins. Gary stated that he hates those, but goes along to show support for his wife.
  • In his absence, Rob E. will attempt to keep some semblance of order at the dinners. He would set the tone for the next two meetings by licking his bowl clean later in the evening. Dianne then moved a few seats over so as not to be associated with such crass behaviour.
  • Tuesday breakfasts continue to be well attended and the scene of lively and varied discussions. The past week saw a lot of vintage airplane nostalgia.
  • The team of DeWitt and van Groenewoud is planning another one of their epic adventures. This one will coincide with the Windsor show. Details will appear here soon.
  • Kelvin offered to bring 'stuff' back form the UK where he'll be in April. He made no mention of a size or weight restriction. He'd better as I'm already making a list.
  • Watch the site over the next while as spring won't be long coming bringing with it the maple syrup run. I've read that the cold/warm snap will get the sap running early.
  • As the price and availability of lobster has normalized over the past year, we hope to get out to Lorneville this spring.
  • Next month's meeting (March) will be at Wolastoq Wharf on the north side.
Rob E. your humble servant.

Larry sent a note that he and Sandi, who made tonight's Gahan House reservation, will not be attending this evening's FABAC meeting. Those FABAC members attending should ask for our reservation under Sandi's name.

Thanks

I fired up the 1956 MGA today for the first time. Next is a new wiring harness. I hope this encourages Bob E and Calvin to finish their projects. The Video is too large to send in this e-mail.
