Spitfire rim wanted

I am in need of one (1) rim for my Spitfire and wonder if a member might have one for sale. The style I am looking for is shown here except I do not require the plastic centre.

The Mactaquac Centennial Park option for meetings

Besides lots of options for seating, there are proper toilets, running water, and oodles of parking space.

XK150 at Auction

You may remember that several weeks ago I included a photo of this vehicle in the FABAC Breakfast email invitation and asked if anyone wanted a new project.  I said that it was being auctioned with an estimated sale price of $10-15,000 US$.  Well, it sold at Bonham’s yesterday for £ 90,000 (US$ 127,741) inc. premium!  Someone is going to have to invest a few more dollars to put a shine on that Jag.

Bob's report on the Wednesday Meeting

It was a packed house on Zoom the other night for our monthly 'meeting'.
Gary (of course) took the helm and thanked Rob E. for the lobster run last Saturday. It seems that several others made the run but on their own schedule.
We discussed at great length various scenarios regarding our future get-togethers.  With restrictions presently in flux we decided not to have any official gatherings as a club.  Individual members could still get together depending on their own comfort level.
It was suggested that we look at a nature hike in Saint John at some point.  There's also a few spots that are secluded and a bit remote where we might go for a picnic and a drive.
We hope to hold next month's meeting in Carleton Park, with Centennial Park at Mactaquac as a backup.

New photo category #3

Can you start a new category called “lying under your car”?  It’s a bit difficult to get into the Little Blue Car right now.  I’m in the middle of replacing the four exhaust manifold gaskets on the left bank of the Rover.  It’s the second time in six months and I surely won’t get extra points for smiling!

It will be a ZOOM meeting, again kindly hosted by Dan.

(Photos will be accepted (for posting here) of any member sitting in their car in their garage. Extra points if you are smiling.)

Report on the Lobster Run

As I followed Beth and Chris Daigle's cheery green TR6 down the scenic 102 under perfect (almost) summer skies I decided that the low turnout wasn't a disappointment. Any time I get to drive down that gorgeous road with the prospect of lobster at the finish line, is a good day.
Beth and Chris had driven up from Saint John to take part in today's run so we headed off together at the crack of noon.  The timing was perfect as there was no line up at the lobster hut.  We sat under sunny skies and enjoyed the balmy breeze off the ocean.  It seems that Beth and Chris have a sailboat and passed a bit of the afternoon teaching me what one doesn't do on the water.   As the afternoon wore on, Debbie and Tim arrived just ahead of a mid-afternoon rush.  Debbie had brought cookies which made her my friend for life—not that I wasn't already.
Thanks for making this a fine afternoon and a great way to welcome the summer—Covid or not.

A Saturday Run for Lobster!

Saturday the 15th!  Get yer cars waxed and ready, we're going for lobster!
Meet at the Burton court House on the 102 for a noon (12:00 PM) departure.
The route follows the scenic 102 towards Saint John.  At the Westfield/Grand Bay intersection we join up with the 7 and continue down (south?).   Watch for the turn off to the 100 and take the West route.  This becomes King William Rd.  We turn left onto Lorneville Rd and soon after hit the lobster hut.
Bring lawn chairs as there's no seating inside or out.  We can keep our mutual distance and enjoy the predicted sunshine.
Bring cash or E-Transfer.   A link to the Facebook page includes a map.

J Leno's Steam Engine

The following post of Jay Leno’s latest restoration blog will be of most interest to Larry as Jay demonstrates his steam engine, but I think the others will like seeing it as well.
