Looks Like a Messerschmidt car that was made in Germany in the 60's...I think they had 4 wheels though...I have no idea who it is

You are correct. Joe. It is a Messerschmitt. But they did have three wheels. The BMW Isetta was the little car that looked like it had three wheels but really had four--the rear ones were set in considerably. Interesting cars coming out of Germany back then since their aircraft companies were not permitted to build aircraft!

Exactly! They fetch quite a price these days ranging from $15,000 to over $25,000. Your final comment might suggest you have a little story to tell. Care to share?

The driver looks like Colin B Mackay, President of UNB between 1953 and 1969. Guess he liked vehicles out of the ordinary. I recall seeing him in an Amphicar, an amphibious car.

You are absolutely right, Dwight. According to the Gleaner article passed on by David and Margot, Mackay won it in a raffle.
I should let all of you know that Stephen W actually e-mailed me with the car and driver correctly identified before anyone else had responded. Nice going everyone.
As to the AmphiCar--I remember taking it out for a drive and a cruise in the St. John River back when Ashfields had it for sale as a used car in the mid 60s I believe. Absolutely fascinating experience.
