Report on the January 20th FABAC Meeting from Bob E.

A reasonable crowd crowded into McGinnis Landing on Wednesday evening of the 20th.  David Nielsen was in full swing when we arrived, relating some information he'd received from the organizers of a British car meet in Windor, Nova Scotia. They were soliciting our support for their venture which we voted to give them. Jim M. provided some interesting details on some attempt at a car meet on PEI this summer. The dates have changed (again) but no one seemed too interested.  Folks ears perked up when REAL British car gatherings were announced.  More information will be forthcoming but for now the following three events are Stowe, Vermont (16-21 Sept, Owls Head, Maine (8-10th Oct), and the Rexton meet on the 7-9th of August.

A very well done Citroen calendar was circulated by Bob Laroche. He also described another 2CV for sale in Nova Scotia.
Was I the only one who noticed that Tim Ross shaved off the mustache that has graced his face since he was 20?
John Bowles displayed some vintage car ads and sales brochures for a Ford Zepher.  It seems he'd led some rally team to a second place win in 1959 driving the same cars. He also lamented the sale of an AC Ace Zepher he had owned back then.
Currie Alders displayed a laminated print he had prepared for display at Porter's Diner on Hanwell Rd.
David's "What's in the Bag" turned out to be an illuminated telescopic magnet.  Not to be outdone, Robbie Hogg try to fool everyone with a candle trimmer.  Some mention was also made about the moto contest.  No one's taking this seriously so it's open for more suggestions.  It'll be run for another month (or until everyone loses interest) and folks are urged to get creative.
Kelvin P.  talked about a planned 'Time-Distance' rally being put on by the Fredericton Motor Club in April and invited all FABACians along. He then thoroughly confused everyone by explaining how a 'TD' rally works.
Alex was next with a tale of rough road adventures with his TR6 when the GPS led him home through a cow path.  He reports that a TR6 doesn't make a bad off-roader.
The next meeting will be held at East Side Mario's February 18th.
