Report on FABAC November Meeting

We had yet another great turn out at our monthly meeting which was held at Montana's Restaurant. I believe at last count we had 23 attending.  Of course one could say we have never had a bad turn out at our monthly meetings. I wonder if it has anything to do with the meals rather then the content of our always scintillating discussions? If that indeed is the case last nights meals were in all accounts wonderful. All comments I heard were all positive so no doubt we will be back to Montana's soon. Too bad we were missing Bob E, poor lad is on assignment in the southern states, he would have missed the ribs and to top it off it was rib night where you can eat all the ribs you want or rather can handle and we all know from previous visits there how much he likes his ribs.

Jim B led the agenda and as always kept us on track with our upcoming and future agenda items. Here they are:

 - Christmas Party. As previously mentioned, Anne and John Crumley have volunteered to host this years event. It will be held on Sunday Dec 12, at 6pm at their place. This will be a pot luck event so please post your proposed dish on the FABAC comments section or call Anne. We will do the traditional Yankee Swap for those that want to participate. The gift cost limit is $10.00. BYOB.

 - Gagetown Christmas in the Village Nov 28. Please stand by for details. Jim B and Gary A to lead. This will be a weather permitting event.

 - FABAC's 10 year anniversary. It's hard to believe that our club will be that old come Feb 22/2011. In the last meeting David N asked people to think about a special event/occasion to celebrate this. A few suggestions have already been discussed. These include visiting the United Kingdom for the Goodwood racing revival in Sept, a truly magnificent event, and one that would certainly be memorable. The other suggestion and one many of our club members have already experienced is attending the Stowe British car show in Stowe Vermont held each year in Sept. Luckily for us John B. has experienced both these events and has agreed to look into the details including the approximate cost to attend both events so we can better make an informed decision. We are still looking for other ideas so please give this some thought, it does not have to be a single event but a continuous year of special events celebrating our success as a long standing club.

 - Dec Meeting. Our Christmas party (Dec 12) will replace our regular meeting.

 Thanks

Hi Fabacians,

Brenda and I had sent a comment for the Christmas party, but it has not been posted. Brenda lost her Mom last week, and has been away since, handling her affairs, which is why we were not at the November meeting. I hope we will be able to attend the Christmas party, but I must await her return and her choice of menu item (although I also have a few), before I commit.
