Bob's Report on the FABAC June meeting

The Riverside Inn near Mactaquac was the scene for FABAC's June meeting and dinner where we enjoyed the outdoor balcony with its lovely view of the possibly-soon-to-be-drained headpond in the setting sun.  David's Morgan with it's newly repaired engine made it's debut run.
We collectively stumbled for a bit, unsure of what to do in the absence of Gary-n-Barb.  David finally took the reigns and brought order to the assembly.
First on the agenda was a reminder by Dwight about the upcoming run to St Andrews which will include a visit to the aquarium.  If we can cough up at least ten members we'll be treated to a formal tour.  The run takes place on the Sunday, the 28th.  Details will be posted here.
There will be a car show in Dieppe this Saturday run by the foreign car club.  Folks who have attended in the past enjoyed it immensely.

Steven called for interest in his Grand Manan trip.  As there were no takers the trip was cancelled.  This seems to have been due to unfortunate timing as there was considerable interest early in the year.
There was a reminder about the Windsor car show and much discussion was held regarding the change in the ferry schedule.  Most folks still intend to take the ferry despite the fact that it now leaves much later in the day.
The gathering thanked Jim for arranging this month's dinner and he was not only given a standing ovation, but carried around the tables on peoples shoulders to the sound of a marching band while banners where unfurled in his honour.
Herb made a quick reminder to folks about the trip to Shubenacadie in August.
Folks are looking forward to Rita and Bob's lakeside cottage happening August 16th.
John updated us on the excellent Carter House run for September 13th, reminding us that there is limited seating for the meal so anyone interested should email him no later than noon, Saturday, September 5th. First come—first serve.
The last official order of business was a vote to hold next month's meeting again, at the Riverside Inn.
With business out of the way and dinner finished, it was time for John's monthly quiz..  It was (of course) hotly contested with that darned Joe winning it.  He is hereby granted five penalty points for next month's quiz.
The meeting adjourned under warm and sunny skies and most of us wandered across the dam to enjoy ice cream at the stand along the 105.

It was nice to see Pat Peterson at our get together last night. He is moving along nicely on a '69 MGB project.
