FABAC's Christmas Party 2016 Edition

Rather than make a mess of someones house, we again opted to scatter the detritus of our yearly
Christmas celebration in the party room of McGinnis Landing.
  • Gary (naturally) opened with some messages from absent members. Jim B. and Ellie sent their regrets at being unable to attend as did Dwight and his wife. It seems that winter's chills have gotten the best  of many FABACians with a variety of flu, fevers, coughs, colds, snotfests and other fun.
  • A short, year-end summery was given and it was decided that while we'd enjoyed a good year, we need more runs for next year.
  • He also thanked David for keeping the website running smoothly. It's our central hub and we all appreciate what you do, David.
  • Our next meeting is scheduled for Jan 18th, 2017 at Sam Sneads. Please note that that's NEXT YEAR.
Much merriment followed with Christmas Crackers providing goofy hats and the acrid smell of gunpowder. We (thankfully) avoided the temptation to have a group bang.
Kelvin ran the Yankee swap in the absence Of Dianne E. who was home staying away from germy people.
Gary explained the rules...at length, and we were off. This year's gifts saw a lot of tools and car accessories which where hotly fought over.
Susan B. collected donations for the Fredericton Multi-cultural association.
John B. held a special quiz featuring many Christmas themed questions.  As John had forgotten to impose any handicaps, Kelvin won it.
Alex and Lise had departed earlier but had left a couple of Alex's drawings as door prizes.  Two gorgeous renderings of local scenes were given away which I assume will be framed and proudly displayed.
