Hi David:
I got this request from Dan Foote inviting us to participate in a show at the Hampton Middle School on October 26th. I did attend several years ago and quite a few cars were there and many of the students were quite enthusiastic. I may attend depending on the weather. The roads on the route are now quite good. Can you post this on the FABAC site?
Regards
Phil

Report on the Carter House Turkey Run
While storm clouds boiled on the election horizon, we carefree FABACians met under warming and clear skies to enjoy a day driving the Kingston Peninsula in search of a turkey supper.
A pothole free trip down the 102 brought us to the two ferries where we engaged in battle. The Crumleys in their now back-in-service MGB, took up the rear and wound up as the only car that didn't fit on the Evandale ferry. The rest of us continued on and waited on the other side of the Belle Isle Bay ferry where we took the opportunity to engage in some informal veggie shopping.
Re-assembled, it was a short trip to the Carter House where, surprise surprise! there was a turkey dinner waiting for us. What luck! It was, of course, excellent and we all ate too much.
A short speech where we thanked our hosts was followed by a group shot outside. We then mostly parted ways for everyone's trip home.
Thanks to all for attending.
Bob E.

Notes from September FABAC Meeting
We covered a lot of ground last night, met a new member and reconnected with one of the original members. Henning introduced his wife, Rose, and Mark Cowell, an original member was (hopefully) made to feel at home.
Gary took the reigns and recapped the last month's events:
Gary took the reigns and recapped the last month's events:
- Rita and Bob's cottage visit.
- The visit to Nackawic to take Lise and Alex to lunch.
- Rick and Terry's 'Blueberry Explosion' up near Woodstock.
- Phil talked about the MG guru presently making the rounds of the Maritimes. See the post from a few weeks back.
- There was also a brief chat regarding the trip to the Owl's Head museum in Maine last weekend. Phil had the privilege of driving a 1913 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
- There was a quick update on this weekend's Carter House run and dinner.
- There will be our annual year end run to Knightville for Octoberfest in Adolph's German restaurant.
- There was a lot of confusing talk about browbeating someone to organize a run to 'Walter's Restaurant'. Watch for a possible update to this one.
- The next meeting will be at the Day's Inn in Oromocto on the 17th of October.
- John Dewitt will be planning a trip to the Gaspé next year.
- Kelvin finally showed up and teased us with rumours of a small town somewhere in the US states not far from here that stages sports car racing through the streets every year. Watch for news on this one too.

MGA Guru
I mentioned Barney Gaylord at breakfast this morning and suggested that folks might be interested in checking out his website at https://www.mgaguru.com
After he and his son Elliott left us Sunday Sept. 3rd, he spent some time with Robb Steeves in Moncton and on to Bedford to meet with the BATANS group and spend the week traveling around NS working on LBCs and taking some interesting photos. They attended a BATANS group BBQ and went on to PEI on Sunday to meet up with a number of British car owners including Bob Bentley. It looks like he will be here for some time and may be passing through Fredericton again. It may be a good time for anyone who has a thorny issue with their car to get some expert help.
His travel log covering his two weeks in the Maritimes can be found at https://www.mgaguru.com/tales/mobile104.htm

Sunday Ice Cream Run - Phil
Decided at the last minute to meet the group organized by Al T. for an ice cream run to the Lincoln Dari Freeze on Sunday. Surprised to see Barney Gaylord and his son Elliot of MGAGuru fame. https://www.mgaguru.com/ there. I used to follow his website quite regularly but haven’t too much in the past year. Barney is an interesting guy! They've had quite a tour this year; across Canada from the west coast to Newfoundland and on to Labrador and Goose Bay via the St. Barbe ferry on the Trans Labrador Highway, then back to New Brunswick on their way to meet up with the BATANS group. They've been on the road since 2014! Check out his road trip reports—amazing. His run with us, along with thousands of others, is posted on his site. https://www.mgaguru.com/tales/mobile.htm

Phil
