Notes from FABAC June Meeting

It seems that all meetings will now involve a treasure hunt to find the meeting locale.  We drove endlessly around the headpond last night until we stumbled upon the gang at something called the York Centennial Park. The place has only one minuscule sign that CAN'T be seen from the road.  Finding everyone was pure luck. When we got there the dinner/meeting was over but everyone was nice enough to stay for a while anyway so that we didn't feel like we'd driven all that way for nothing. Still, it's a gorgeous spot and it was a balmy evening. All we would have needed was a boat or bathing suits. Now that we know where it is, maybe we can do it again sometime.

  • Phil's breakfasts continue to be a hit with a regular crowd that's a bit irregular, always in attendance.  If it ever stops raining, Phil has vowed to take us outside to Odell Park.  As always, the ladies are encouraged to attend.
  • The Windsor British Show is happening July 14-15.
  • Stanley Fair Aug 19th.
  • Bruce mentioned a 'solar tour(?)' that several members are working on for sometime in August.  This will be a rain or shine event but rain will take some of the glamour out of solar part.
  • The Eden's Retirement Villa (by the Willie O'Ree Centre) is asking for us and other car clubs to put on a little show for its residents. David will keep us in the loop on this.
  • The old Freddy Beach car gathering is back in the parking lot behind where the Legion used to be (and will be again).  It's only loosely organized which is what made it such fun.  It's now on Wednesday evenings.
  • Our next meeting will be a Wolastook Wharf, hopefully on the patio.
