Bug Splat contest Guide

After a disastrous showing last year, I'm hoping that THIS year brings some good entries to the Bug Splat contest.  There is a prize!...a really cool prize!...you'll want this on your mantelpiece!
The following pictures where all taken with a $100 Nikon Coolpix, nothing fancy here.  First, turn off the flash.  At close distances the flash will overpower the shot.  You're best to take the picture in
shade or in the garage with good lighting.
You might have to experiment a bit to see if you need to enable the close-up mode (if your camera has such a thing). Mine doesn't but it seemed to focus
well despite the lack of one.  Tape the ruler next to the splat, point and shoot. Maneuver the camera so that you have a dark or black background.  If the interior is white, use something dark behind the
windscreen.  As shown, a white background hides the splat.  You can also go for grouping if you happen to collect a large volume of smaller splats.
Send entries to David N.  He will forward them to me so I have no idea who sent them.  Winner(s) will be announced at the Christmas party (and receive their amazingly nifty prize!)
