Barb and I are just back (Friday, the 30th) from a short lunch run in the B to “Yes Bye Fries” located this side of Tracy on Rte 101. We think the drive would make a nice little excursion (2-3 hrs) for interested FABACians and friends.
The menu is typical of a French fry truck (burgers, hot dogs, fish and chips) but with a Newfoundland theme since the owners are from the rock. The portions are large and as their sign says, “not figure friendly”. That likely refers to the Newfie poutine and such items as deep fried Mars bars and deep fried Oreo cookies. There is a little treed picnic site with tables and adequate off the highway parking.
We’ll lead those who would like a fun little run on Thursday (the 6th), leaving from the New Maryland Irving at 11:45. For those interested, we’ll return via the Whittaker Road and Rusagonis’s Patrick Owen covered bridge, with a short stop at the bridge’s park.
The fall colours have started and I expect that they will be even better by next Thursday.
NOTE: This will be a “dry day” only run.
Dwight
