Report on February Dinner/meeting

Gahans was empty except for us. We kinda expected that as it was the day after Valentine's Day and most folks would have been dined out.

  • Gary mentioned that he and Barb would be in Florida for the next two meetings so that Barb could attend several RC fly-ins. Gary stated that he hates those, but goes along to show support for his wife.
  • In his absence, Rob E. will attempt to keep some semblance of order at the dinners. He would set the tone for the next two meetings by licking his bowl clean later in the evening. Dianne then moved a few seats over so as not to be associated with such crass behaviour.
  • Tuesday breakfasts continue to be well attended and the scene of lively and varied discussions. The past week saw a lot of vintage airplane nostalgia.
  • The team of DeWitt and van Groenewoud is planning another one of their epic adventures. This one will coincide with the Windsor show. Details will appear here soon.
  • Kelvin offered to bring 'stuff' back form the UK where he'll be in April. He made no mention of a size or weight restriction. He'd better as I'm already making a list.
  • Watch the site over the next while as spring won't be long coming bringing with it the maple syrup run. I've read that the cold/warm snap will get the sap running early.
  • As the price and availability of lobster has normalized over the past year, we hope to get out to Lorneville this spring.
  • Next month's meeting (March) will be at Wolastoq Wharf on the north side.
Rob E. your humble servant.
