Report on FABAC April 15th meeting

Spring's meeting saw three LBCs out, albeit with tops up.
John D. was in attendance and proudly sporting a new mechanical knee but politely declined an offer to have his (its?) nipples greased.
  • Gary started the business portion off with a quick recap of the Dumfries sugar shack run which is always a popular way to start the season.
  • He then introduced Kelvin who handed out a set of cryptic instructions as homework for his upcoming St Georges day rally and pot luck dinner.  Further direction will be given at the start of the rally next Saturday (the 25th).  As his Smart car is still stuck in the driveway on collapsed springs, folks are urged to bring hernia belts to aid in dragging the thing into the garage.
  • Kelvin also announced his plan to host a 'Drive-In' evening at his place.  This is exactly what it sounds like and is scheduled for the fall once the mosquito hordes have subsided.
  • The Moncton Foreign Car Club has an upcoming show at the coliseum which a couple of folks have planned to attend.  The calendar mentions that this takes place this weekend. http://foreignautoclub.ca/
  • Numerous folks are already planning for the Windsor show on July 12-14.
  • Herb reminded us about the race weekend at Atlantic motorsport Park in Shubenacadie on the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd.
  • Jim B passed on a proposal from Steven W. regarding a weekend trip. Three trips where proffered with a trip to Grand Manan being the favourite. While it was initially suggested as a May run, weather concerns favour a delay until later in the summer.  May on the coast is usually cold and foggy.
   *****Intermission (food arrived)*****
  • With food out of the way, Gary wisely decided to make us pick our next dinner locale as we'd forgotten during the last meeting.  The May meeting will be at McGinnis's Landing Sam Snead's Restaurant (Jim B learned that McGinnis Landing was already booked by another group) on the 20th.
  • Jim B offered a run to White Tail Fisheries in Saint John that hosts a sea food feast. http://whitetailfisheries.ca/ It will be an open air picnic followed by a visit to Karen -n- Ralph's place in town.  This will be a great way to get together with the Saint John gang.
  • John B  provided a heads up regarding the highly popular Carter House Thanksgiving dinner run.  As the Carter house will be closed in October he suggested that we do it in September.  This was enthusiastically agreed to.
  • The evening was topped off by a raucous quiz given by John B (same guy). THIS time, Kelvin and Joe were given a billion point penalties which kept them out of the running.
