Anyone interested in convoying to Saint John on Thursday. Perhaps meet somewhere around 3:00? We’re thinking of taking Route 7, rather than the scenic but much longer route.
Cheers,
Larry H.
I know there are several of us driving down to Ralph's that day so I think you'll get a nice convoy. I certainly plan to avoid all secondary roads in New Brunswick until they are all smooth. (Yeah, right!) Still working on wheels. Maybe the government will pay for the wheel repairs. (Yeah, right!)
D & M- We'll meet you at your home at 3:00. Bob E.- Maybe you're keen on driving the bumpy roads because you'll be driving a car with a real suspension. Larry
That is great - 3PM at our place for those leaving from Fredericton. We were with David N and Carolyn when the Morgan's wheels were damaged and we have no desire to repeat that bumpy road performance (although we can't vouch for the silky smoothness of any N.B. road). Highway #7 for us. D & M
Gary and Barb; The Digby ferry is scheduled to leave SJ at 0800. The crossing time is approx. 2 hours 15 minutes. So we should be in Digby at about 1030 -1045 (allowing for unloading) Google maps says it is about 1 hour 40 minutes from Digby to Windsor. I think we would be there around 1PM (assuming Joe H. doesn't want to take too many pee breaks). David r
Happy Trails to all FABACians going to Windsor. Sorry we won't be with you having been previous four years. Instead, we're doing the BATANS tour of the Gaspe first week of August. Can't do both. John B.
We were hoping to take Route 1, the scenic route, which takes about 2 hours 49 minutes. We also would like to stop along the way for lunch, this was the plan last year before it got aborted when Joe had car problems. That would get us to Windsor mid-afternoon. What do people think? Larry
We've done some research and we suggest Bistro East (www.bistroeast.com) in Annapolis Royal for lunch--good ratings and not too pricy ($8-$14). Google maps says it takes 1 hour 37 minutes from the ferry terminal to the restaurant, so we would be there between 12:15 and 12:30. I (Sandi) called the restaurant and they suggested that with a big group we would need reservations. Right now there are 4 in addition to Larry and me who indicated that they are up for the old road and lunch. I'd like to make the reservation tomorrow. So please let us know if you are in for the old road and lunch on our way to Windsor.
We tried to get into Bistro East. Not possible without a reservation. The Garrison is excellent but not sure if they are open for lunch. The German Bakery has excellent chowder. There is also a pub in the market area.

We're in. Want to meet at our house (134 Parkhurst Dr. not far from Tim's on the Ex grounds). 3:00 works for us.

I guess we'll (Dianne and Bob E) meet you down there. Back roads (bumps and all) are made to be enjoyed.
(posting attempt #5)
Group from USA plans to land here (at Homeport) late afternoon dinner is booked for Suwanna for massive group of 20 at around 6:30. Ralph

Larry,
A Honda does NOT have a real suspension. It's stamped steel built to a price. It works but....

Naturally, I like the idea of stopping along the way for lunch, specially if you know a good spot.

That's great with us, especially the lunch stop.
