Fall Leaf Run

What a great run we had yesterday down to Calais via St, Stephen for an "abundant" and good lunch at Kings Oriental restaurant. From there after a short stop at Walmart for their turkey special prices we headed north to cross back into NB at Fosterville.

Crossing the border back into NB was a non issue for most of our cars but for one, yours truly's. The good news is that an inspection and goods search in an MGB doesn't take very long. With nothing of interest found but a previously declared turkey, I was cleared to go. Other than the expected rousing and joking we continued on our journey.

Overall we had a wonderful day. While the forecast was initially pointing towards rain and a possible ugly day, we, on the other hand all enjoyed a great day with little to no rain. There was lots of sunshine and some cloudy weather too but lots of beautiful autumn colors still remained. We saw some awe inspiring sites and beautiful panoramic views both stateside as well as here in NB especially in the area around Skiff Lake and Canterbury.

We also welcomed Gordon J, the proud owner of my previous TR6 accompanied with his buddy Art B. We hope they join us again when the opportunity arises.

Oh yes, Gary H was there as well sporting a beautiful black BMW Z4 as was Chris and Beth from Saint John in their stunning restored TR6. Phil and Pam also joined us in their beautiful Miata as did Ernst in his Miata. Led by John, we made a pretty impression convoy of 7 cars.

Once again, thanks to John D for putting on yet another great run that we all enjoyed. And yes, John's record for picking great travel days, irrespective of the weather forecast, still holds.

  Best,
  Gary
