Notes from June meeting

President Gary welcomed the 25 members present at the June meeting which was held at the Delta Dip patio restaurant under warm and sunny skies. He thanked Dennis and Bob E for arranging the highly successful McAdam tour earlier this month. Certainly a job well done!

Gary then welcomed new club member Bob L, a former LBC owner who just recently acquired a spiffy 1985 Citroen 2CV6 (and no, Bob tells us that the model name does not denote that it is a 6 cyl). You should have seen faces around the table light up when Bob mentioned that he had a `pit`and tools.

Johanna distributed a number of brochures advertising the upcoming Don Messer Centennial celebration. More information to follow on this site.

Some members are planning to attend the upcoming Antique Carriage and Auto days next weekend at Kings Landing. Their website has more information.

There was discussion about FABAC members planning to meet up on the Friday evening of the PEI car show in July. Watch this website for more on this.

BATANS will be overnighting in the Fredericton area on August 2nd as part of their Rexton Show tour. Curry and Sherry have invited them to their home for a get together and they would like FABACians to also attend. More info to follow. And still on the Rexton weekend, Dwight informs that the O`Leary Inn in Richibucto has vacancies on this weekend if anyone is interested in attending.

Jim B reminds everyone that organizers of the annual fly-in breakfast at Granite Hill have once again invited club members to attend. This year promises to be a special show in recognition of the 100th year of flight. Gary to coordinate our participation. Watch this site for details.

After the meeting, a group of about 8 cars motored to the Keswick Ridge area to partake in David N`s wonderful treat of ice cream as a fine way to end a beautiful (almost summer) evening.

Although we forgot to discuss a location for our next meeting, an executive decision was made later and we will be getting together at McGinnis Landing. Jim B to coordinate.

Bob S.
