It's somewhat redundant to provide a write-up for this run since the WHOLE CLUB WAS THERE! Waiting in the parking lot of Porter's restaurant on a fine (and getting finer) Saturday morning, we watched car after car roll up. Folks we haven't seen in ages were welcomed back into the fold, and others even had their kids driving the spare LBCs. 21 cars (twenty one!) headed towards McAdam down the good ole Hanwell. At Harvey we were met by two more, and continued via a somewhat circuitous route.
The day couldn't have been better with warm temps and fluffy white clouds. I'd invited Ian along and let him drive on the trip out. It's a nice change to be a passenger in my own car as it's driven by someone whom I know will take good care of 41 year old machinery. His enthusiasm overcame him from time to time as he'd roar away from a stop (letting the lovely sound of that engine resonate off the woods) only to have to drive along at 40KPH while the others caught up.
Once in McAdam we lined up at the train station and were joined by yet two more FABACians. Twenty five whole cars graced the station. It was a sight to bring tears to one's eyes.
The club was treated to a tour and history lesson of the town's partially restored train station interspersed with humorous stories and anecdotes. After a light lunch in the restored 50's style diner, the tour continued.
On the way home a quick stop was made in Harvey for ice cream.
The trip and tour was a huge success for the club and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We have added this tour to our repertoire with plans to return next year. We've also added a bit of FABAC lore with the introduction of 'railroad' pies. Watch for one at our next potluck.

Congrats to Dennis for his fine suggestion and planning for this very successful trip, and to Bob E for his ever-so-fine photos and for planning the route.
I would like to recommend that we do the dinner option at McAdam next year in June to take advantage of long day-light evenings.
This was one great outing!
