St. George's Day Party report

      It's always about the food.
And the food was fine—of course. There was plenty of it, and a varied menu.

David chaired an ad hoc meeting and covered a few points which were immediately forgotten because the secretary neglected to bring his note book. (So the Webmaster has taken the liberty to add to Bob's report.)

  • Dwight announced that there will be a car show at the FREX grounds in two weeks to which we've been invited. FREXROD2018. More info in another posting. I (Bob E.) will harass folks to get their cars in and arrange for someone to be there during the busy hours to grab new members.
  • Mention was made of the very successful FABAC Breakfasts which Phil started and maintains.
  • Phil informed the group of the upcoming Great Race which will bring a great variety of interesting cars so near (Rothesay and Moncton) it would be a crime to miss it. Details are below in another post. Lots of interest in this one.
  • A brief discussion on the Moss-like challenge to encourage getting out and about with our LBCs. Phil is hoping to generate interest in this neat project. Ralph H. is a big supporter of the effort.
  • Members responded to Al's project to swap automobile magazines with a good pile available on a table. Breakfast folks may continue the exchanges.
  • David thanked our gracious host Kelvin (and Jennie) for yet again hosting this wonderful annual event.
  • We were happy to see Shirley Ann in attendance but miss John's regular participation in our events. Shirley Ann gave a brief update on John's progress. We wish him all the best.
  • Location for the next meeting will be arranged by a mystery member and announced here. (I would suggest that the breakfast group make the decision. - David)
  • With the business out of the way, David revealed his Morgan shaped 'cake' to celebrate its 50th birthday. The Morgan cake was big hit (and a tasty one) which raised the bar for other folks whose cars are also celebrating a milestone this year.
  • This was followed by a cake commemorating the Queen's 92nd birthday presented by host Kelvin.
  • The club thanks Kelvin for his continued generosity and Jennie for cleaning the floor of all food droppings.
