A Report on the Cornhill Run August 30/2009

Cloudy skies and unseasonal temperatures didn't put off some 30 FABACians from enjoying a wonderful tour yesterday (30 August) to the Sussex area of New Brunswick. With top downs, engines a-revving and a willingness to really enjoy their cars, the members left the Ramada in Fredericton to head out along Highway105.

Along the way, Bob and Dianne E (Jag XKE) and Rob and Nettie H (with visiting friends from Newfoundland) joined the convoy. After a stop at McCready's, the tour now led by Jim and Ellie Bleakney, continued along the four-lane to the Havelock turn-off and eventually to the Cornhill Nursery in Cornhill.

After a 45-minute stop here to see the huge variety of plants, shrubs and trees for sale, the group, now joined by members from Saint John, continued to tour along rolling, winding back roads to the Gasthof Old Bavarian Restaurant in Knightville. Here everyone was treated to a gastronomic feast of traditional Bavarian food - and wine and beer!! A truly delightful ending to a tour with a difference. The drive back (at least for the Fredericton folks) along Highway 10 included a spectacular sunset. What a day and not a single mechanical breakdown!!
