Another perspective on the Sunday run.

We were Railroaded!
Ten cars ultimately showed up for the run to the McAdam RR station for Railroad Pie.  The weather was just about perfect for cruising and, for the most part, the roads were in good shape.  We were a pretty sight!  We arrived at the RR station at around 2:15; pie was offered between 1-4.  When we arrived, we were all surprised at how many cars were parked outside.  When we were escorted into the dining room, which consisted of rows of counters and stools, very tastefully done, most of the seats were already taken.  We couldn’t all sit together, but we all found seating. I noticed that slices of pie were flying past us. The board that listed the available pies was quickly being revised, with the number of choices rapidly dwindling. Very shortly after we were all seated, they announced “No more pie, we’re all out”.  At this point most of us had not been served. Well, I must say, FABACers are a resilient and mentally tough lot.  Despite this potentially devastating blow, which had the potential to ruin our entire day or even the week or the rest of the summer (given the importance of food to our group), not one person cracked under the stress of this event. Demonstrating incredible fortitude and strength, the group soldiered back to Harvey where, in the end, we found a nice restaurant that had quite tasty homemade pie. The day was salvaged after all!

Sounds like a fun day and a great idea for a short run. Hopefully next time we can attend.
