Wings and Wheels Tour

What a great day we had attending the second annual "Wings and Wheels Show" at the Houlton Airport in Maine. Only 5 cars showed up, including new members Jeff and Allison (Jaguar). Everyone managed to make it through the border with no issues and we all managed to park together at the car show proudly showing our FABAC colors. Missing though was the ever present and enthusiastic Bob E (Jaguar XKE) due the Jags overwhelming thirst for oil. It was reported Bob was determined to find fix the problem. Good luck Bob.

The weather and venue were perfect for the day and the event. There were lots of airplanes on static display mostly civilian types and a fair display of cars, including hot rods, vintage and current models. The air show itself  had aerobatic displays, sky diving, civilian flights, biplane rides and even a  helicopter water drop demo. All in all it was a very nice show and well organized with the usual food outlets, lots of baked goods and decorative art/ clothing sales etc etc. So there was lots to see and lots to do......something to suit everyone's interest.

Late in the afternoon, David N (Morgan) whose car had attracted much interest departed for home. Shortly after the remainder of us not wanting to pass up an opportunity to try a new restaurant decided to try the now famous "Grammies" restaurant outside of Houlton on the old #2A road to Bangor. Our appetites and taste buds were not to be disappointed. The size and quality of the served meals certainly in this writers opinion met all expectations. All of us left happy with appetites satisfied.....very satisfied! The only problem was getting ourselves shoe horned back into our respective cars.

We all departed out separate ways content in knowing we all had a great day.
Thanks Joe (Jaguar XKE)for organizing this event for us. It was good!

And BOB E's report:
The following was relayed via a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) from Joe as his computer is feeling poorly.
The run was a great success with five cars in attendance including Alex who joined in Nackawic. Joe didn't say much about either the car show or airshow so I'll assume they where great.  He did mention that we (they) where joined by a new member and his Jaguar XK8, Jeff. Jeff and his family have a long association with British cars and we hope to see more of him.  Welcome to the group.
Joe talked at length about a nasty oil leak and requested a visit from the FABAC traveling road show and pit crew to bring gaskets (apparently I'm now a Jaguar parts supplier) and help installing some new radiator fans. Apparently (again) FABACTRS&PC also includes computer repair. Pictures are (hopefully) forthcoming.
